Royal Crescent Surgery is now a veteran friendly GP practice, accredited by the Royal College of General Practitioners. Whilst many aspects of the health needs of veterans are the same as for the general population, we recognize there are sometimes significant differences, particularly in relation to conditions that result from periods of service and the impact for individuals and their families.
As an Armed Forces veteran friendly accredited GP practice, there are three main things we aim to do:
- We would like to ensure our records show you are a veteran or immediate military family member. This will reduce the number of times you have to tell us and other health professionals. Please notify us at your next appointment or by calling us and we will make sure this is on your permanent patient record.
- We will make sure veterans have access to resources that may be particular relevant for their health needs. See here.
- We have a dedicated veteran clinical lead and are committed to improving our awareness as a practice of issues that may affect veterans and their families.
