We offer a range of appointments throughout the day.
These appointments are available at reception or are bookable online. Please note reception does not open until 08:30.
Patients can also be seen in an Improved Access Appointment
Improved Access offers GP appointments for urgent and routine issues from 16:00 – 20:00 on weekdays and 08:30 – 17:00 on Saturdays and 10:00-18:00 on Sundays.
These are held at Overton Park surgery, Overton Road, Cheltenham GL50 3BP, you will need to give consent for them to share your medical record.
To book one of these appointments please call reception between 08:30-18:00 Monday to Friday.
Please be aware all calls into and out of the practice are recorded for training and monitoring purposes.
Why your appointment may be running late
There’s rarely a single reason why, our Patient Participation Group has produced this handy guide about appointments and why your clinician may be running late.
It is essential that if you cannot attend an appointment you inform us as soon as possible so we can offer it to someone else.
You can cancel an appointment in the following ways:
- Use our online Cancel an Appointment form
- If you are registered for SystmOnline, you can make and cancel appointments on the site.
- Reply to your smartphone appointment reminders with the word CANCEL (please do not type anything else).
- Call our Appointment Cancellations Line 01242 579911 (Please include your name, date of birth and the appointment details).
Our receptionists are fully trained Care Navigators, which means they can refer patients directly to certain out-of-surgery health services including Improved Access.
They will ask you to give them some idea of your problem and if appropriate, signpost you directly to health services outside the surgery.
Care Navigation saves your time, as a patient, and saves GP appointments for patients with more complicated health issues.
