Dr Phillip Kurlbaum (m)

Specialist areas: In addition to full general practice services, I am the lead GP in chronic kidney disease, cardiac care and orthopaedics. I also have an interest in occupational health.

Background: I have been with the practice since 2004 and I am the senior GP partner. I speak fluent German.

Specialist areas: I offer a full range of general practice care and I am lead GP in child health, dementia and mental health.

Background: I joined the practice in 2004 and became a full time GP partner in October 2008.

Dr Hasan Yilmaz (m)

MBBS MRCGP DFFP Post-Graduate Diploma in Dermatology and Diabetes

Specialist areas: I have special interests in diabetes, dermatology, care of the elderly and minor operations. I am a teaching doctor and oversee the training of GP registrars.

Background: After studying in Plymouth, I worked as a GP in and around Bath for ten years. I joined as a GP partner in 2017.

Dr Rebecca Usher (f)

Specialist areas: I have a broad range of interests offering a full spectrum of women’s health and contraceptive services including implants, coils and pessary changes. I am also interested in paediatrics, ENT and mental health.

Background: I joined the practice in June 2016, having previously worked in a GP practice in the south of the county.

Dr Taslima Sultana (f)

Specialist area: I enjoy all aspects of general practice and have a special interest in dermatology and minor surgery.

Background: I qualified as a doctor in Bangladesh in 2014. After moving to UK I have worked in Yeovil hospital for 2 years in general medicine, then started my GP training in Gloucestershire in 2020 and completed my training in August 2024. I joined Royal Crescent Surgery as a salaried GP in September 2024.

Dr Sarah Oussena (f)

Specialist areas: I enjoy all aspects of general practice, but have a particular interest in palliative care having worked at two hospices as a specialty doctor.

Background: I joined the practice in December 2024, having completed my training in Bristol and Gloucestershire. I am fluent in French.

Royal Crescent Surgery are a GP training practice and you may see one of our GP registrars. GP registrars are fully qualified doctors who are registered with the General Medical Council. They have all completed a minimum of 7 years of education and training and are now following an advanced training route in general practice.
